Welcome back to The Link, a bi-weekly circularity newsletter making the connection between regenerative farming and you, every other Tuesday.
Hi friend!
How’s your summer? How’s the heat? OK enough small talk already.
Last December, I had the honor of speaking with Jesse Short Bull and Laura Tomaselli, who co-directed, Lakota Nation vs. United States, a brilliantly powerful documentary that covers the ongoing multi-generational battle between the Lakota Nation and the U.S. government in the fight for justice in returning the sacred Black Hills to the Lakota Nation.
If you’ve been subscribing to The Link for a while, you probably remember that interview, and if you’re newer, welcome! You can revisit it here.
But before you keep scrolling, watch the trailer below:
During the time of the interview, the film was not yet out in theaters, but all that has changed! Lakota Nation vs. United States is now available via IFC, and will be followed by on-demand thereafter.
I’ve said it a million times—this is one of the most essential films you need to watch, period. The New York Times recently called it a “stunning” must-see. Vanity Fair called it “lyrical and provocative.”
Go to IFC’s site here to find out where you can watch it RIGHT NOW in theaters. Here is a great resource to deepen your knowledge of LandBack and how you can support the movement. And for those of us who are not Indigenous, here is a resource for learning more about the tribal nations whose unseated land you occupy.
